The Mama Pilista Bonyo Memorial Health Centre
"where you live should no longer determine whether you live" - Bono
The Mama Pilista Bonyo Memorial Health Centre located centrally in the village of Masara is currently under construction to provide sustainable, cooperative health care to the thousands of residents that live in the area. The official dedication ceremony of the bare bones facility took place Dec 11, 2006 with Dr. Bonyo, his family, and other past contributors being honored. It was an emotional celebration, attended by twenty six SHARE Kenya participants, and hundreds of villagers. Speakers included a Minister of Health official, a Member of Parliament, as well as many local tribal leaders and officials. They spoke of hope and immense gratitude for what the future brings.

Several thousand patients were treated in that facility by the SHARE Kenya participants during their two week stay. The U-shaped, 6,000 sq ft building has twenty one rooms and will cost $100 - 150,000 in total to complete. Many things have yet to be completed, including finishing the cistern, purchasing a generator as well as furnishing the facility properly.
Year round staffing needs are essential to keeping the program running.
